Hessayon (12 December 2009)Recommended by a local expert in fruit planting and grafting I was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing something which might prove to be beyond my needs. No need for apprehension, this is an easily readable and understandable book even for someone with nul knowledge of fruit growing. The type font and diagramatic representations are kindly on the eye and you get the feeling that this really is the information and education that will be required to be successful in rearing fruit of a wide variety. Clearly there is more to growing fruit than this book but it does give you the wherewithal to navigate round the subject. Essential starting point and great value, it just remains to be seen if it will bear fruit (might have to wait 2-5 years)!! Easy to use , quick reference book (01 October 2009)This book is very easy to use as a quick reference. All details are clearly explained. recommended for all new gardeners. The Fruit Expert (13 September 2009)The Dr. Hessayon series of 'expert' books are without doubt the most informative and useful books on my garden bookself. The colour illustrations accompanying the easily layout text make easy reading and support any aspect of the garden you are working on. I have just bought a mini fruit orchard from a newspaper advert and knew I would also need 'THE FRUIT EXPECT' to ensure I get the best out of my new project.
