I used them with the confidence that if anything went wrong with the property or any damage was caused I had paperwork that was water tight and would hold up in court. It also gave the Tenant confidence that they were dealing with someone who knew what they were doing. Not everyone will need to read every chapter, but it's well worth reading all the relevant chapters to the reader. Overall, lots of great tips and advice on issues I hadn't even considered. Great book - can recommend. Supportive and yet realistic (19 August 2010)Finally! A realistic guide on how to buy and let property, written from a UK perspective, yet without all the instant-millionnaire hype that so many of the property books seem to spout. After having read this book, I finally have the confidence to go out and get started since the book touches on all aspects that you really need to know about. I have also been reading the author's blog and website and been very impressed by the quality of comment he makes on issues - showing an in depth understanding of challenges currently facing buy-to-let in the UK. Another book which I have found useful for expanding on the finance side, although written from a US standpoint is The Complete Guide to Real Estate Finance by Steve Berges. I'm sure with the help of this book and the help of a good letting agent, I'll be able to set up a good retirement nest egg.
