It pays to read it more than once, and to keep it close at hand as a source of reference and reminders. Because the chapters in it are relatively short, I have found it well suited to being read regularly to a new Christian, to educate, stimulate discussion and inspire. Moreover, there are supporting resources available, as mentioned in the book itself. Altogether an excellent buy, which no-one who is serious about Christianity should miss. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The purpose driven life (30 November 2008)What a good book i thought!! Christians know the Bible is the main true help guide. But this book is a help for anyone wanting to make a bit of sense as to why we each are here on earth in a helpful way...its a book where you can read abit about everything..it is worth a read. I see alot of people have different views about this book but i suggest give it a read and see, you may find some encouragement or answers to some question you have in your mind. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thumbs down! (22 April 2008)This book is an alleged christian book because it twists the scriptures and goes against what the word of God says. In my opinion this is not christian at all, but written from someone who I identify with cult practices. How come so many churches use this book when it goes against so many christian values and scriptures?? Do the christians that read this book read the bible? Apparently not, or they might find issues with it that I did. Also why does it make you sign a covenant at the start of the book? Me and my friends do not recommend this reading if you are serious about your walk with God. However if you are serious about your walk with God, the Holy Spirit will direct you into all truth. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Microwave Christianity (19 April 2008)The 'Purpose-Driven' franchise has been incredibly successful, in terms of shifting units. There has to be a reason it's done so well. Simple answer. It's a generic product. It's Bird's Eye Fish Fingers. It's Heinz Baked Beans. It's Chicken Tonight. The book jacket promises a lot and there are certainly a lot of excitable reviews of it, by all means give it as a gift to a new Christian but if you have any level of maturity you will be left frustrated. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome (30 March 2008)This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, Rick Warren just says it as it is and makes so much sense. Every day's read was inspirational and so encouraging a must for every christian. | ![]() |
