| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Overshadowed by one gratuitous event (28 June 2010)I'm sorry, but irrespective of your interest in football, any person that champions his own cause in effectively ending another player's career should receive a life ban from the game. The fact that so many people can read this and give it positive reviews is a sad reflection of our times. It doesn't matter what Haaland said to Keane - Keane injured himself attempting to foul Haaland in the first place. He then sought revenge, sending Haaland into orbit with a monstrous "tackle", describing it with relish in this book...totally unforgiveable. As Joe Royle put it after that game...if Haaland hadn't jumped just beforehand they'd still be looking for his leg now. A leader? come on - there are better (and tougher) leaders out there - genuine hard men who conduct themselves in their careers with dignity; and better books about football than this one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() keane the autobiography (16 November 2009)the above book arrived in very good condition for a used book. The book itself is both well written and a very compelling read. It is good for both avid football fans and for people like myself who are interested in reading good autobigraphies. Roy Keane gives a brutely honest opinion on several football issues with a light humoured touch in places. Well worth a read ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Written from the heart (02 May 2009)When you know the book is by Keano, you know its coming straight from the heart. Its an amazing story from bot even being considered for the local team to becoming the captain of one of the most successful clubs in the world. A sincere story and for once an autobiography is written as it should be frank, honest and from the heart. That's Keano for you. THERE's ONLY ONE KEANO! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() honest (18 December 2008)A typical Roy book. I'd expect nothing less from him. Honest as the day is long and just as stubborn. In todays world of superstar nancy footballers, Roy could just have easily delivered coal on the back of a lorry. Legend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Stuff of True Leaders (21 July 2007)You don't have to be Irish, A Man Utd fan or a beer drinker to appreciate the autobiography of a true leader. I'm neither of the above three and yet I found this book compelling reading. Several notable anecdotes including the famous Haaland and Saipan incidents but I will remember this book for a long time because of one popular quote; "The only thing that goes with the flow is a dead fish." | ![]() |
