A little gem (09 July 2010)This is a little gem of a book full of common sense advice for life. I particularly like his reasons for being proficient in the Chinese language. Jim does not just talk the talk, he also walks it. His daughters are learning Chinese. I have been most impressed and have passed the book on for my own daughter to read. This is a must read for oreward thinking parents to prepare their children fo life in this and the next century. Great little guide to life. (09 January 2010)A Gift To My Children is a short, well composed guide to life written from Jim Rogers point of view. Jim Shares his own life experiences, global focus and practical approach through this book's 83 or so pages. He is to the point and does not lose the (probably young) reader's attention in too much detail. I recommend this book. Sugary get-rich guide (26 October 2009)This short bestseller by Jim Rogers, one of the world's most renowned investors, is in the form of a letter offering personal guidance and investment advice to his two young daughters. Rogers co-founded the Quantum Fund with his partner, George Soros, and established a reputation as an authority on economics, investing and markets. In his 60s, he married for the second time and became a father. In this book - written in first person from "your father" with a slight, sweet undertone of talking down to the children's level - he tells his daughters many anecdotes about his experiences to illustrate old-fashioned nuggets of fatherly guidance.
