Customer Reviews:

The best biography I've ever read (23 December 2008)
I've been a fan of Pete ever since watching him serve aces through tears for his coach against Jim Courier all those years ago, so I had to buy this. The book documents his journey through the world of tennis and reading it for me was like re-living that journey that I had previously experienced from the outside, but this time with his personal reflection.

He adds detail and side-stories to the more well known matches he's won (and lost!), as well as things that affected his life in general. The almost obsessive quest for constant No. 1 status, the journey to the 14 slam wins are all compulsive reading if you've ever been a fan.

One story for me was particularly inspirational - the chapter about his "warrior moment" in 1996. I'll not spoil that one here - it's far better told from the man himself.

I think someone else has already said that this book is his 15th grand slam and I think that's an excellent way to sum up the review.

  What a Champion (18 July 2008)
what a book, intresting to read how arguably the best tennis player ever became what he is, from the highs which are winning winning at Wimbledon to the lows when his coached died while he was playing at the Australian open in 1996 in which Pete explains them so well, if your intrested in tennis it's a must buy!!
